A Giclée print is generally the closest reproduction that can be made of an original two-dimensional artwork. Giclées can be printed on art papers with different textures and tonalities, as well as canvas. The artist may then choose to individually hand-embellish each print. The initial cost of creating a Giclée print is moderate, and they can be printed just a few at a time. All these characteristics combine to provide artists with the opportunity to offer to the public high-quality artworks, in limited editions, at a reasonable price.
The first step for creating a Giclée from an artwork is to digitize the image by scanning the artwork directly; we use either a flatbed scanner or a digital large format camera to scan artworks of practically any size. Once the image is digitized, the next step is to adjust the colors, contrast, and correct any minor imperfections caused by dust, scratches, etc. This is done in the computer and generally requires printing several proofs (usually smaller than the final Giclée print size). This process culminates with the printing of one or more "printer's proofs" for final approval by the artist.  

Cost of scan and file adjustment: $55.00 

After proof approval, additional reproductions are created in the size(s) and quantities specified by the artist. Usually, artists do not print the entire edition at once, but rather order 4-20 reproductions at a time. This limits their initial cost and risk exposure, and it is one of the great advantages of giclées over lithography. Additional prints can be easily ordered by the artist as needed.

This 310g, Bright White, water-resistant Fine Art Paper is made from 100% cotton fiber and is acid and lignin free. In addition to the base paper stock, the proprietary digital coating on our Elegance Fine Art Paper is also acid free and has a completely neutral pH. Although it is common to find papers on the market today that have an acid free base, it is however very uncommon to find a paper or canvas with an acid free coating. This feature guarantees a significant increase in the longevity/achievability of the substrate.

Brilliance Canvas: $0.17 sq. inch (up to 44 inches wide)

Brilliance Canvas is a 17 mil naturally textured canvas, is ideally suited for fine art and fine art photographic reproduction.
